Latest Developments
June 2007. The local ephorate, under the new ephor Mr. Konstantions Kissos, proceeds to clean up the monument while aslo (for the first time!) doing some archaeological research. No further rescue action as yet.
May 31, 2007. A new meeting at the Ministry of Culture decides for a first- aid protection study, to be ready and approved within two months
February 16, 2007. The Direction of the Restoration of Ancient Monuments (DAAM) inspected the Diolkos site.
Beginning of March: The DAAM provided support at two points of the erosion front as the erosion continues. One more stone of the "sane" part of the monument has recently fallen off.
