Dr. Eleftherios Botsas

Dr. Eleftherios N. Botsas was raised in Athens, where he attended night high school because he was working as a proof-reader at the Zacharopoulos Publishing house. After serving in the Hellenic Army for twenty-seven months, he came to the University of Detroit as an undergraduate student, and he then moved to Wayne State University for his doctoral studies.

He has taught at Wayne State University, Lafayette College in Easton, PA, and Oakland University where he was granted the Emeritus title.

In:Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the Midwest, American Men and Women in Sciences, International Dictionary of Biography, and American Hellenic Who's Who in Business and the Professions.

With respect to the American Hellenic affairs Lefteris was the Founding member and past chairman of the Executive Board of the American Hellenic Congress, Member of the Board of Trustees, St. George Hellenic Orthodox Church, Chairman of its Finance Committee, 1988-1990 Director, Greek School of St. George,1988-2002, taught Sunday School to High-school age at St. George, and brought a group of young Hellenes to Detroit under the People to People program.

Honors he received "Teaching Excellence Award" 1981,and the Golden Key National Honors Society honored him.

Founder and editor of the Oakland University International Economic Letter,

The Association Of Hellenic Societies of Michigan honored Professor Botsas for his works on Hellenism at a dinner in 2009.
